Any women dirt bikers on here? A local store is having a big 40% off sale and I want to pick up a good pair of boots. I will mostly use these for dual sport riding on my XT225. I'd love any input on what are good brands and features to look for. Any tips for n00bs are welcome too.
I am getting a lot of spam from a site called XTRM Sports Network. They appear to be some sort of forum / advertising / shopping thing. Their hook is that they are offering contingency money and sponsorships to motorcycle racers. The messages are addressed to username elizilla and the same email I use on all forums, which implies that I subscribed to this, though I can't remember doing so. I'm wondering if I was trying to sign up for a track day or something, and had to go through this site? Maybe I got phished in some minor way. Or maybe they just bought a set of accounts from some other moto forum?
Anyway, I'm not a racer, just an occasional casual track-day rider, so I'm not going to pull in any contingency prizes. And I am sick of the daily spams. But I cannot find any way to delete my account or shut off this email, and queries to their support go unanswered. Does anyone know of this outfit, and have any idea how to escape their mailing list?
If you don't know of them, be warned, they will spam you like crazy if they get your info, so don't give them your real email address! I did not include a link, because I don't want anyone here to treat it as a recommendation and fall into their clutches.
arrived in Goa a month ago after a long drive down from Manali Ladahk and Rajasthan.
Hitting the sunny, sandy, palm lined beaches of Goa was such a relief after a pretty exhausting ride.
i was really glad to be off the bike with no where to go and finally relax. Royal Enfield had sponsored a bike show at a beach village down the road so i went over to explore. rode the new 500 with fuel injection. nice power delivery and good brakes, strange riding position though.
Since when can they give a parking ticket or photo ticket for parking a bike on the pavement (sidewalk for those in the USA)? I thought parking restrictions were governed by the Road Traffic Act, pavement (sidewalk) is not road. Anyone?
OK, this is deeply and insanely stupid on so many levels, but it still interests me strangely for all that! It also scares and impresses me in equal measure!
I wonder how quick would it go with a decent aerodynamic fairing on?
btw what is a hayabusa good for? a friend of mine traded it in for another bike cause he likes to take his bike to the track, the only thing I can imagine is drag racing type stuff.
OK, I'd not seen this before, but if you are ever tempted to say "Fuggit!", get on your bike and head for the horizon then I reckon this would be equal parts inspiration and information...
badrap_blog: Sally Needs a New Home! "A most wonderful wants-to-stay-anonymous donor gifted Sally to us and asked that she be auctioned off so we could get some dogs in that darned barn already! How amazing is that?"
The Sucker Punch Sallys Swinger is a modern suspension bike done in the tradition of a mid 1950's Harley Davidson FL; low stance, big fat fenders, spoked wheels and custom pinstriping. She's powered by an 88 cubic inch RevTech V-Twin with a 2-into-1 exhaust for easy cruising, channeling power through a 3 inch belt driven primary and a Baker 6 speed transmission. She features Harley Davidson controls and a 4.2 gallon split tank for long highway rides. The bike currently has 905 plus miles on it. The only minor defect is a little discoloration of the exhaust pipe. Other than that, she is flawless.
This is a charity auction for BADRAP, a non-profit organization that works to help homeless and victimized pit bulls and pit bull mixes. 100% of the proceeds from sale of this bike will be going to help BADRAP build a halfway house for pit bull victims of cruelty. Visit www.badrap.org/rescue/barnraising.cfm for more info. Thank you for bidding!
